St Vincent’s Hospital is one of the world’s leading academic teaching hospitals providing front line, acute, chronic and emergency care across over 40 different medical specialities – in the country’s only integrated multi-hospital campus.
APA Facade Systems sustainable aluminum products have been ever-present across multiple buildings on the St. Vincent’s Hospital campus in Dublin.
Our curtain wall systems, high-performance window and door systems and louvers were installed across the public and private hospitals, the psychiatric building and the cystic fibrosis building.
St. Vincent’s Private Hospital is over 470,000 sq. ft. and Ireland’s largest private hospital. Achieving a “Excellent” BREEAM design rating, this 288-bed state-of-the-art facility was designed by Scott Tallon Walker. It received an honourable mention in 2012 in the category of Best Sustainable Building by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland.
St. Vincent’s Public Hospital is a 269,000 sq. ft. clinical block providing eight new operating theatres, an intensive care unit, pathology laboratories, radiology and diagnostic imaging services, ambulatory day-care centre with two theatres, new consulting rooms, and a new accident and emergency department treating over 40,000 cases per annum.
The new five-storey accommodation, displays our curtain wall system on every elevation of the central glazed atrium, creating a light-filled building.
The multi-award winning public hospital development at St. Vincent’s won the Regional Award at Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland awards and the highly commended OPUS award.
The psychiatric facility also won an OPUS award. The 52-bed facility delivered a superior therapeutic environment without detriment to patient safety. It includes a two-storey layout around an internal landscaped atrium and the provision of secure garden spaces.
The 114,000 sq. ft. Nutley Ward or cystic fibrosis building is a seven-storey block providing 100 inpatient bedrooms, designed to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards.
