APA Facade Systems recently completed The Roy condominium, a fantastic project in Nova Scotia, Canada. The Roy is a modern 22-storey, ultra-luxurious condominium designed by IBI Group. It features a beautiful contemporary style, exquisite amenities and unrivalled views across Halifax.
The facade treatment of the tower is handled in two distinct ways. The east and south elevations are treated with undulating articulated aluminium curtain wall and The north and west elevations will be brick-clad with a fenestration pattern similar to the neighbouring Johnston Building.
The Roy emulates the old building for the first few storeys and then shoots skyward with a residential tower. “The feel of it, the integrity of it and the structural elements … we are going to not only keep but enhance,” Louis Reznick, the developer who owns the Roy Building said before construction work began.
The Roy is designed to foster “limited edition living,”. It features an entire floor with a fitness centre, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, library, theatre room, party room, bar, billiards and much more. Add to that the striking architectural design, luxurious interior and floor to ceiling windows. The Roy is setting a new benchmark for condo living in Halifax.
We worked in conjunction with Flynn Group of Companies on this prestigious project. Flynn installed our TB50 Facade System, a bespoke sliding door system, designed specifically for this project and our louvre system.
