Smoke Ventilation Test – ST Roof Lights

Our ST Roof Lights recently undertook the EN 12101-2:2003 Smoke Ventilation test in partnership with SE Controls. The photo shows one of the major tests, the Annex G heat exposure test, whereby the Roof Light is placed in a chamber and heated to 300 degrees for five minutes. The vent then has to fully open within 60 seconds.

The chamber continues to be heated at 300 degrees for a further 25 minutes. The roof light must not close more than 10% for it to be successful. As you can see from the images, our ST Roof Light passed this test as well as the other annexe’s of EN12101-2:2003. It is now compliant to this standard.
