Tyndall Street Condominium

Tyndall Street Condominium

APA Facade Systems will supply our new extreme performance ST90 window system to the £57 Million apartment tower at the Tyndall Street Condominium in Cardiff.

Our installation partners will install our passive house standard ST90 Window to this 27 storey building, in the heart of the city. This eco-friendly window was specifically designed to meet the ever-increasing thermal demands of architects, design teams and their clients. It is perfectly suited for high-end multi-level residential projects.

The condominium building will play a central role in creating a local focal point within Cardiff’s Capital Quarter Development. It will deliver high-quality accommodation for the private rented sector. Associated Architects are the company responsible for the beautiful design of this tower.

It is being funded by Grainger, the UK’s largest provider of private rental homes. This huge development will see 307 apartments built in the centre of the capital. Alongside the private rental homes, the scheme will also deliver a range of amenities for residents including a rooftop lounge and a terrace overlooking the bay.

IM Properties, one of the UK’s largest privately-owned property companies is the developer of the scheme.

The 23-storey Tyndall Street Condominium block is expected to be completed by mid-2022.

The Old Meatpacking District – New York City

The redevelopment project of Gansevoort Row at 60 – 74 Gansevoort Street has come to life. The scaffold has been removed on this project by Aurora Capital Associate and William Gottlieb Real Estate,  revealing APA’s new high-performance, thermally enhanced ST70 HI window system. The durability and weather performance of our ST70 HI windows make them the perfect choice for this development.

The design by BKSK Architects reintroduces the historic style of the meatpacking district with a luxurious modern twist. Gansevoort Row is situated near the High Line – a 1.45-mile-long elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail created on a former New York Central Railroad. Match Group, the people behind dating apps Match.com, Tinder, Plenty of Fish and Hinge have just agreed to lease out 45,000 sq. ft office space on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of this new development.

New Thermally Enhanced ST70 HI Window

ST70 HI Window System - APA Facade Systems

APA Launch New Thermally Enhanced ST70 Hi Window System

Before developing our new enhanced ST70 HI Window system, a substantial amount of market research was conducted to discover exactly what was missing in the fenestration industry.

Through this research and by speaking to numerous people within the industry we discovered that the best route to market was a cost-efficient, thermally enhanced window system. The ST70 Hi is just that. The combination of closed-cell and solid insulation, create an excellent thermal barrier to heat loss. Using the most up to date thermally conductive technology, the APA Facade Systems design team have developed an eco-friendly, aesthetically pleasing window system that can achieve whole window Uw values as low as 0.170 Btu/ft ² hr °F.

Along with the thermal performance of this system, the ST70 HI’s strong aluminum frame and flexible design make this the perfect window for condominiums, student accommodations, hotel developments and schools.

The ST70 HI window system is the perfect environmentally friendly, cost-efficient solution for your next project. Discover more about this window system here:

APA Facade Systems Join Irish Green Building Council

APA Facade Systems are proud to announce that we are now a member of the Irish Green Building Council.

A non-profit organisation, The Irish Green Building Council was launched in 2011 with organisations and businesses from the entire value chain of the built environment. These include universities, professional institutes, NGOs local authorities, contractors, architects, engineers, energy companies, leading national and transnational companies. All of these companies are united in one common goal – to accelerate the transformation of the built environment, related industry and supply chain to one that is sustainable.

The IGBC is now Ireland’s leading authority on green building best practices with a network of over 160-member organisations spanning the entire built environment industry.

APA Facade Systems have always been committed to excellent practice towards a more sustainable environment. We organised a very successful conference with TU Dublin in Cork last year – Delivering Commercial nZEB in Páirc Uí Chaoimh. The conference looked into nZEB Standard design through presentations of leading Irish and international building design professionals. A breakout session focused on technical solutions and an alternate round table session allowing business owners and managers to explore ways to re-orient their teams to nZEB through discussion with peers and international experts.

The IGBC website is a great source of information for sustainable building concepts and can be found through this link: https://www.igbc.ie
